Sources of Inspiration

First at all I have to point at life itself, with its multitude of expressions, and the great unity of love that I experience at times, as the living flame that has opened my inner doors of perception. This is the main sources of inspiration. I have been blessed by deep inner experiences of life over the years that has past, and now also in this art project. I also feel great gratitude to the less bright experiences, of distress, or diseases, that meet most of us; all those experiences form us, and mould us, and without those contrasts, no creation would be possible. I also feel I have to bow in reverence to the greatness of nature, that has embraced me where I have worked with this project.

November 1999:

In the end of November 1999, when I was working with some poetry collections, there was the presence of picture, keeping reappearing within, as vibrant and bright life-pictures. It was like they knocked on my door, and to begin with I said, no. It came about in a state of awe, and with a feeling of grace. Little by little I accepted to start to express those pictures. They kept appearing within, also in the form of explainations, and I can best describe it as a sense of an inner flow. They came about in a state of deep communion with life, and its invisible forces. Often it was surrounded by a state of exstacy, and playful joy, and deep peace. At times it felt very strong, and even a bit hard on the body. I have felt deeply guided during this process.

Martinus:

I also have to point at the Danish-born thinker Martinus, since the study of his Cosmology has help me tremendously, in order to embrace the deep loving logic of the universe. I have felt deeply inspired and guided to use his concepts, as well as description of the universal laws, basic energies and so forth; there is a link that you may follow for further information about him and the spiritual science. With prior knowledge of his guiding and loving explainations, the various symbolic paintings became possible to make. I have lectured on this world view for some years, in various countries, and this art is also my celebration of the spiritual science, as it has appeared within me. As I perceive this science of life, as Martinus has described it, I feel that in this there is a true seed born towards a world of love and peace. I cannot see, how we can reach this without a cosmically competent and lovingly intellctual guidance, as the spiritual science.

Art sources:

Over the past years, I have travelled to some 40 countries, and studied philosophy and art at many places, so there are many outer sources that could be mentioned. This could include the study of the scriptures of wisdome, of philosophy and science, and so forth, or simply good and nourishing human experiences in different parts of the world, or periods of distress and desease; all contributes to the creative experiences of life. Concerning the sources of art, I could point at Tibetan tanka painting that I studied for some months, like Chinese calligraphy, Arabic and Persian miniatures, Buddhist and Hindu art, as well as African art, and the various forms of native art, that has been very dear to me over the years. I also had a long period when I was in love with Western religious art, like the icons and early churchly paintings of Europe. You can probably see those influences as well in the art. All of this has been combined with my studies of Western art, and especially modern abstract art that I love very dearly.

Artists and Life:

Many modern painters could be mentioned, that has helped or inspired me: Hilma af Klint, Kandinsky, Klee, Rothko, O'Keeffe, Matisse, Van Gogh and so forth. I worked with culture and artists in my early twenties, and here many influences are to be found as well. Yet I feel that it would not be entirely correct only to point at those outer sources; I have rather felt that Life has used all of those influences in order to create, in communion with me; it is like a destillation of many sources, that has been organized anew, that has appeared rather independently within, as I can embrace this process. For the first period of time, when I started this work, I read very little, and was exposed to even less. I stayed in my little forest house working for many months, hardly moving outside the local arena at all. Later on, my mind whas ablaze, and I studied shelf meters of books, mainly on art, in order to digest the history of creativity. I also went in the direction of Kandinsky's "About the spiritual in Art", Goethe's color theories, Itten's, and so forth. The sense of grace permeated me often, and therefore, I feel it is correct to say, that Life as a whole and God has been my major source of inspiration. Very often I experience that we try to pin down a process of creation, by only looking at the outer sources; there is also a spiritual dimension that has to be added to this analyses, and the process of intuition. Here I belive that we find the real source of all creation and creativity.

The dear Friends:

I also have to point at many of my dear friends, that has helped me, and communicated with me around this project, like Ulla Hjortflod, Margareta Rossing, Cliff Weinmann, Sofia Eriksson, Bosse Anderlid, Henry Perneborg, Lars Östnäs, Katarina Immonen, Ingegärd Holmberg and not the least Sten in Bäckefors, that has supplied me with art material, and the friends all over the world, like Vanessa Soodeen, Karina Ash, and so forth. Wihout their help and loving support, non of this would have been possible either. It is like they have created a loving web of consciousness around the work, that has enhanced it. The more I look at life, the more I feel how all is a great web of co-creational forces, how nothing is possible without thousand and thousand things, experiences, people, countries of the body and the micro world, the Earth and so forth, and how I finally have to conclude that I have to thank God, the source of creation and multitudes, in whom we all live and exist. This is to me the dearest friend, and the source of the universe and all creation. I have often, in this process of work, turned in gratitude to a dear brother and guiding light, and that is Jesus, with his deep and loving wisdome. He has, together with Martinus, inspired me to more clearly express and see God's science in existence.

The Cosmic Language:

Later on did I start to study very much, in the furthered process of creation, mainly art and history. It was like I perceived the existence of a great cosmic language, being spoken throughout the history, a principle of great unity. It did set my being on fire, in a very silent, rather comfortable and peaceful way. It is this great cosmic language I have wished and felt inspired to express. I have done it as I have felt inspired to do it. I leave it up to others to judge the results. It is as if I have been a part of a greater will, as I have perceived it and felt it, yet I feel as I have fully been myself, free, and willing to undertake this work. Many of the energy landscapes spring from my experiences of travelling. There are also projects that will follow this one, with mental energy landscapes and so forth. Finally, again and again, I feel that I have to thank life for its bountiful gifts, the experiences of light and darkness, that has embraced us all with equal strength and justice. My work, as I see it today, is a celebration of a world picture as well, of the great cosmic language, that I at times have been fortunate enough to experience deeply and fundamentally within, as well as I have seen this being reflected in creation, in friends, the dear nature that surrounds me. It is as being gently held within a field of tremendous aliveness, where all appears to be nothing but good.
